Filming in White Rock

The City of White Rock has a variety of unique filming locations including our waterfront and pier, our historic train station and our city parks. The City has played host to a variety of productions including movies, commercials and television.

The City of White Rock's objective is to help facilitate the motion picture film industry in its production endeavors by providing a centralized and efficient procedure for obtaining City authorization necessary for filming-on-location in White Rock.

The City of White Rock provides filming-on-location services and co-ordination through the Engineering and Municipal Operations Department. 

FILM PERMIT GUIDELINES

Complete a film permit application and submit at least two weeks before filming is planned. Film permit applications should be submitted for approval to:

Submission of an application does not guarantee issuance of a permit. Once approval-in-principle is given, the City will invoice the film production company the fees according to their request submitted in the permit application and issue the permit.

Filming Permit Fee $300 per project
Pay Parking Stalls    Current hourly rate
RCMP Services  Cost recovery
Pier     $1,000 per day – non exclusive use
Location on Promenade        $750 per day – non exclusive use
Sidewalk Site   $400 per day
Other City Park or Land Site      $500 per day
City Building Site $400 unless hourly rate applies

 *Note: GST will be charged on all filming fees
