2012 British Columbia Building Code - New Requirements as of December 20, 2012
The City of White Rock Building Department is responsible for processing of applications and issuing of a variety of permits covering Building, Plumbing, Demolition and Signs. This includes checking plans and monitoring construction for compliance with the City Bylaws and minimum health, life safety and structural requirements which are contained in related construction codes and bylaws.
We endeavour to assist builders and owners in understanding and following the City Bylaws and related codes to aid them in producing quality buildings.
We also inspect building premises and investigate complaints related to unauthorized construction, unsafe conditions and violations of related City Bylaws.
The City has two Building Officials and one Plan Checking Clerk:
- Richard Wilson - Senior Building Official
- Guy Gareau - Building Official
- Anna Starycki - Plans Examiner
Hours of Operation
Office hours are from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday to Friday.
Building Officials are available to discuss permits and inspections from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM Monday to Friday, while the plan checking clerk is normally available 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
- Inspections are booked on a "first come, first served" basis.
