Notice of Upcoming Work at Everall and Goggs

The City will be taking the first steps towards the construction of a new well for our water system later this month. This is just one of the many steps the City is taking to ensure White Rock residents continue to receive quality water. The new well will be located at the Oxford reservoir and will provide additional pumping capacity to the system.

The beginning of this project will include clearing underbrush from the site located at Goggs Avenue and Everall Street so the contractor can access the site and work. This work is expected to take place near the end of October.

Work will be done within the hours outlined in the City of White Rock’s Noise Bylaw (7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays).

The City will also have to conduct a well test for at least 24 hours. This is to confirm the pumping volume of water in relation to the drawdown of the ground water table. During this important test, generators will be operating continuously, but the noise impact is expected to be minimal.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to complete important improvements to our water system. If you have any questions, please contact Engineering and Operations at 604.541.2181.

Please also keep an eye on this City Projects page as we will post updates and further details throughout the project.
