Emergency Program

Are you prepared if a serious natural disaster were to occur?

Experience has shown that after a natural disaster many individuals and neighbourhoods are left on their own for at least 72 hours. Although there is nothing that can be done to prevent a natural disaster, you can prepare now to survive during the emergency and during the next 72 hours.

Basic Preparation includes:

  • Water
  • Food
  • Clothing/shelter
  •  First Aid
  • Battery Operated Radio
  • Blankets

Hazards: Secure items in your home or office Interruptions to normal services are likely. Gather your family and neighbours together to develop a plan; it could save your life and the lives of those around you.

Have you made plans to reunite with your family?

Family members may be in different places when a disaster occurs. To prepare for this separation, identify reunion sites as part of the family plan, as well as a neighbourhood reunion site. Also establish an out-of-area contact person.
