Elaine Cheung

Elaine Cheung

Candidate for Councillor

Elaine moved to White Rock in 2005 and was later joined by her daughter and partner. She immediately began networking in her new community and is now an award-winning local business owner, a well-known activist, and a committed volunteer for organizations such as the Peace Arch Hospice and the Launching Pad Addiction Rehabilitation Society. She is a sought-after producer and host of successful local events, including the First Annual White Rock Pride Family Day, the Peace Walk for Ukraine, and the Chamber of Commerce’s Winter Variety Arts Show.

Elaine is a results-oriented businessperson with a talent for diagnostics, problem-solving, and a passion for challenges. Early in her career, she was enlisted to rescue a multi-million-dollar business on the brink of failure. After ten extremely demanding years of restructuring, the company regained its position as a market leader. Today, Elaine is the co-owner of Hilarapy, a ground-breaking White Rock-based business that inspires others through the sparks of shared laughter.

Elaine’s success in business is matched by her achievements in community service. She is active in both business and arts focused organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, the City’s Arts and Culture Advisory Committee, and the Peninsula Arts and Culture Alliance, and she is one of a small, influential group of women chosen to lead the Women of Options fundraising drive.

Elaine’s award-winning combination of skills in business and the arts, coupled with her dedication to community service, would make her an asset to White Rock’s City Council.
