MEGAN KNIGHT for MAYOR of WHITE ROCK | Leadership that works
I’m deeply concerned at the lack of leadership at our city hall under the direction of the current Mayor and council.
Vision: I want to make White Rock City Hall functional again by providing responsible governance and respect for our citizens, our city staff and other elected officials. White Rock is one of the most desirable cities to live in and I want to ensure it stays that way for generations to come.
Personal: I have lived in the White Rock area for 43 years. I’m a graduate of Semiahmoo High School and so are my children. I have worked as a Notary Public here for 24 years.
Elected experience: White Rock City Council (2014-2018). Chair of Finance & Audit and served on Environmental Advisory, Governance & Legislation, Land Use and Planning, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation (alt), Fraser Health, Sources BC, Seniors Advisory, Metro Vancouver (alt), Vice Chair of Memorial Park, Generations Park, External Communications, Chair of Grants in Aid, Outstanding Canadians on the Peninsula, Parcel Tax Roll.
Board experience: Sources Foundation Board and the Society of Notaries Public of BC Board. I have also served on the Fraser Valley Regional Library Board and Tour de White Rock Board.
Community: I was honored to be a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medallion for my community service. I have a long record of participating, volunteering and fundraising for many of White Rock events.
