Urban Forest Management Plan Forum

On June 24, 2015, the City of White Rock held a public forum regarding the Urban Forest Management Plan. This event included an educational presentation by Diamond Head Consulting that explored the following aspects of urban forests:

• What are the benefits of adopting an Urban Forest Management Plan (the "Plan")?
• What is an Urban Forest?
• Why are urban forests important?

The presentation also addressed the current state of the urban forest In White Rock, and provided a summary of the results from the White Rock Urban Forest Survey. View the presentation slides and get more details (PDF).

Stations

Following the presentation, several stations were set up to address different aspects of the Plan, including:

• Characteristics of planting in different areas of the City
• The objectives of the Plan
• The overall vision for the Plan
• View-related issues

At each station, participants were given the opportunity to discuss the issues and provide feedback for review by staff. View the posters on each station (PDF).
