Digital Public Open House - How Tall Should Buildings Be in White Rock? OCP Review

This digital "public open house," part of the Official Community Plan (OCP) Review, will present options for building heights outside the Town Centre - the Town Centre Transition areas (north of Thrift Avenue, both east of George Street and west of Martin Street), the Waterfront Village area (both West Beach and East Beach), and the East Side Large Lot Infill area. A survey to obtain input on these options will be available on Jan. 15 at Your input will form part of a report to go to White Rock City Council in Spring 2021, and may result in changes to the OCP, which guides the overall development of the city in setting policies for future development application decisions. Joining the Event

You don't need to install or login to Teams to attend the event. Follow the instructions below to join the event:

  1. Click on the Event Link above.
  2. A pop up message "This site is trying to open Microsoft Teams" is displayed. Click "Cancel" to continue on the web browser.
  3. Click the "Watch on the web instead" button.
  4. On the Welcome to the live event page, click on the link "Join anonymously".

During the Event

All comments received during the PIM will form part of a future report to Council - attendees are encouraged to complete the related online survey, which will be available on January 15, 2021 at, to share their views on the proposed policy changes. The public open house on these options is being held to present the options to the public and solicit feedback through the online survey, and any future bylaw changes will be subject to a future public hearing at which time members of the public will be given the opportunity to express their interests and concerns direct to Council. Note that the Live Event may be recorded and subsequently made available to the public online.
