City encourages TransLink to consider feedback from Oct. 28 forum on Route 351

More than 200 people attended the TransLink Forum on Route 351 presented by TransLink on Oct. 28 in White Rock following an invitation by White Rock City Council.

Route 351 connects White Rock, Ocean Park and Crescent Beach with Bridgeport Station.

The TransLink presentation included:

  • Introducing double-decker buses
  • Why we are changing Route 351
  • How we consulted on the change to 351
  • What we heard during consultation and how we are responding
  • The information portion of the forum was followed by questions and answers with smaller groups.

Highlights of the changes include:

  • Make White Rock Centre the new terminus location for Routes 351 and 350
  • Introduce double-decker buses on Route 351, which will provide service between Bridgeport Station and White Rock Centre
  • Implement the new Route 350 to provide service between Crescent Beach and White Rock Centre.

White Rock Mayor Darryl Walker

“On behalf of the White Rock City Council, I want to thank TransLink for accepting our invitation to lead a forum in White Rock, for providing an update to the community, and for answering questions about proposed changes to Route 351.

It was great to see so many interested people come out to the forum on Oct. 28. The City encourages TransLink to include this recent community input into future transit planning for White Rock and South Surrey.”
