The mandate of the Transportation committee is to consider, evaluate and provide advice to Council on public transit matters referred to it by the Mayor and Council. The Committee's activities shall align with Council's vision and strategic goals, thus enabling Council to bring practical action to their vision and the Committee to focus their energies on those prioritized tasks. All components of public transit shall be considered in the committee's mandate.
The Transportation Committee will work toward accomplishing the wide-range objectives as follows:
- Review and investigate issues referred by Council related to public transportation directly linked to the City of White Rock
- Liaise with other Council appointed Committees or ask staff to contact other organizations such as TransLink, and Provincial Ministries as necessary to ensure the best use of resources when addressing public transportation issues
- Prepare an annual report on its activities throughout the year, as well as action plans for all tasks referred to it by Council
The Transportation committee meets quarterly from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.
