The City of White Rock partnered with the Association of Chinese Cultural Promotion Canada, the White Rock Chinese Arts Center and White Rock Rotary Club to host the White Rock Moon Festival from October 4 to 6, 2013. The festival kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with an opening ceremony on October 4, 2013.
The inaugural three-day event featured Western and Chinese cultural performances. This mid-harvest festival features music, performances, a mobile drawing unit, martial art demonstrations and 500 lanterns lining the pier and promenade.
“As a Council we're incredibly pleased to showcase the rich history and variety of Chinese culture to individuals on the Peninsula and beyond,” said Mayor Wayne Baldwin. “Cultural celebrations are an important part of sharing and learning about our neighbours both locally and from afar, bridging gaps and bringing communities together.”
