Extension of Secondary Treatment for White Rock Water Supply

The City of White Rock is pleased to announce that the City’s request for an extension of the existing time limit for installation of a secondary treatment system for White Rock water
was approved by Fraser Health. The date has been extended from June 30, 2016 to
February 1, 2017.

The City requested the extension in order to allow sufficient time to further investigate the effects of free chlorine on the existing distribution system. The extended time line will also allow the City to further evaluate the water supply modelling of the system.

The City of White Rock acquired the water utility from EPCOR on October 31, 2015. The water utility serves the City of White Rock, Semiahmoo First Nation, and a small portion of residences in Surrey.
