The City is holding a Public Information Meeting to discuss proposed changes to the Official Community Plan (“OCP”) and Zoning Bylaws related to the properties on Johnston Road between Thrift Avenue and Roper Avenue (the ‘1300-Block’).
In the OCP, the current height guideline for the 1300-block of Johnston Road supports building heights up to a range of 10-12 storeys, and a maximum gross floor area ratio of 3.5 times the lot area. Council has directed that the height policy for these properties be reviewed, by tentatively reducing the building heights supported in the OCP to 4-6 storeys. The process to amend these bylaws includes opportunities for public consultation and affected landowner consultation to provide input to Council’s final decision. A Public Hearing will also be held, if the proposed changes move ahead to consideration of bylaw amendments.
City staff will be in attendance to introduce and discuss the proposed changes, and will report back to Council on the meeting
