To introduce a Development Variance Permit application located at 14989 Roper Avenue, hosted by the City of White Rock and the applicant, MCM Partnership as a Microsoft Teams “Live Event”. The application seeks to vary the current parking requirements of the Zoning Bylaw to allow for the addition of two apartment units within two of the three existing buildings. While the existing parking supply (i.e., 1 space/unit) met the requirements of the zoning bylaw when the apartment building was first constructed, the change in density requires that the current parking standard (1.5 spaces/unit) would apply to the entire development. The proposed 50 unit development (48 existing plus 2 new units), would under today’s standards require 75 spaces whereas only 58 are proposed.
